Confocal images of cell lines treated with CFA (5 µM) at increasing incubation time. A) HeLa, B) MCF-7, C) HepG2, D) U-87 MG, E) HEK-293 and F) HDF cells. After each time point (0, 2, 4, 6, 16 and 24 h), cells were washed with PBS, and fixed with paraformaldehyde before being observed under a confocal microscope using a 20x objective. To allow a direct comparison of the absolute intensity of different time points, imaging setups were kept constant throughout all the experiments. Images are representative of three fields of vision taken from the same sample. Scale bar: 20 μm
